Don Julio González learned his skills and experience in the production process from his family. He founded his own distillery at the age of 17. The Don Julio Añejo is stored in small white oak barrels for at least a year. That sounds quite short, but the Mexican climate accelerates the maturation process. Añejo means that the tequila has reached the highest level of maturity. By law, tequila can only be distilled in certain regions in Mexico from the fermented juice of a single type of agave - the "Agave Tequiliana Weber". The traditional production process gives the tequila its uniqueness.
